purplecat: The Tardis against a sunset (or possibly sunrise) (Doctor Who)

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Tegan's outfit from season 20. White shorts with a scalloped bottom. A white boob tube with lace scallops at the top. A thin white jacket. High heels.

Tegan in Season 20 This is honestly my least favourite companion costume, but it was in so many episodes it was almost certain to come out of the random process. I'm not sure what it is about it - the lack of colour, the impracticality, the generally creased look, all of the above, but I think it does absolutely nothing for Janet Fielding. You are, of course, free to disagree with me.

Selection of images of Sarah's outfit from The Hand of Fear. Red and white striped `Andy Pandy' dungarees with a pattern of three red stars on the front. A Red long-sleeved T-Shirt. Red and white striped socks and red trainers with white laces. In one shot she is wearing a red and white tied head band, in another a red beret.

Sarah in The Hand of Fear Sarah's "Andy Pandy" outfit is rightly (in)famous. I'm interested that either Lis Sladen had kept it or John Nathan-Turner thought it sufficiently iconic that it reappeared in Dimensions in Time (top left image) over ten years after it first appeared on screen.

Selection of images of Sarah's outfit from The Time Warrior. Black trousers and brown shoes. A tartan tank top in black, white and brown. A white shirt with a wide collar and a blue jacket with large lapels.

Sarah in The Time Warrior From the ridiculous to the sublime. I really like this business outfit that features in Sarah's debut story. It set the tone for her presentation as a professional woman, while also being very of its time with the tank top and the big collar.

Selection of images of Jo's outfit from Frontier in Space. A black tunic with black trousers tucked into knee-length black boots with white laces and platforms. A black and white tie at the waist.

Jo in Frontier in Space I'm pretty sure this is intended to be prison uniform in the 26th Century. That said I think the black and white is striking and the whole looks quite practical and comfy.

Much as Jo makes me want to be sent to jail in the future, I went with business Sarah Jane, the tank top is going to the charity shop though. I'm fairly sure Lis Sladen chose the 'Andy Pandy' outfit from the boutique where she got most of her outfits from so she must have liked it in the first place.
