This story is seriously cool!!!
The mystery: Indiana Jones' Diary arrives in the University of Chicago's Mail Box
The solution: And it wasn't actually because of some kind of publicity stunt

Because obviously if you receive one elaborate package addressed to a fictional character you assume there must be others out there...
Mind you, my choice of userpic has just reminded me that the bank now situated at 221b Baker Street regularly gets post addressed to Sherlock Holmes, often with requests to solve mysteries. Even though anyone who's read the canon knows that's stupid, as Holmes retired to Sussex and became a bee-keeper before World War I.

Date: 2012-12-18 05:47 pm (UTC)I have never received a package from a fictional character. I feel deeply disappointed and unwanted now (especially as I am wondering what has happened to two real packages that have mysteriously failed to arrive, although strictly speaking one of them appears to have mysteriously failed to dispatch).
