Raised canal with pillars built of wide concrete with a circle through which the canal passes. At the end the rotating boat lift can lift a boat from the lower canal up to the upper canal.

The rotating boat lift is a pretty stunning piece of engineering. I forget which to canals it joins. We arrived just as a tourist boat was lifted up to the top.

More or less a stone's throw from the miracle of 21st century engineering that is the boat lift, you have the remains of the Antonine Wall, a miracle of 2nd century engineering.

The statues are nice, but I'm still not sure what makes them anything other than horse heads.

Well I can see they are a bit sea-form horsey but basically yes. B says they were inspired by the Angel of the North but I do think that's more abstract design works rather better. They're still impressive though.

I'm a huge fan of the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. Awesome to see. I think the Union Canal was completely blocked until the Wheel made it accessible again. It's not far from my folks in Fife but we've only been a few times. I'd go again any time!

If the weather had been nicer, there was obviously quite a nice walk from Kelpies, to Wheel to a Fort on the Antonine Wall, but as it was we just drove between them.
