Shape shifting water spirits that often take the form of horses (IIUC)....

Gorgeous shot! I got a glimpse of them, speeding by in a tourist bus coming back from the Highlands to Edinburgh in full darkness. They were lit up and I really couldn't see them well, but they were certainly pretty.

They're pretty impressive up close and surprisingly effective - I was a little dubious given they are much more representational than, say, the Angel of the North but I think they work.

On a nicer day it would be a pleasant walk along the canal from the Kelpies to the Boat Lift, but we opted for a hit-and-run park, view the site, take a photo, leave approach.
