The book claimed that this leg of the walk was 12 miles, but my Garmin said it was nearly 15 miles and unless we were really going a lot slower than normal then 15 miles seems more plausible than 12. So I'm going to put this down as 15 miles/24 km.

These photos of Robin Hood's Bay were actually taken yesterday evening.
We were lucky with the weather today as it basically got sunnier and sunnier as we went but there wasn't a lot to photograph beyond dramatic views of sea and cliff. There was another rocket post, and a WWII pill box (the photo of which hasn't worked).

I did manage to photograph these ruined alum works. I have actually photographed a lot of abandoned alum quarries on the walk, but they are nearly all photos of grey/black shale taken at odd angles down cliffs and haven't really worked, so its nice to have some sort of photo of one of the dominant and now defunct industries of the area.
However mostly the day has been dominated by Scarborough Castle coming ever closer on the horizon.

We will probably visit the castle tomorrow. We will probably not walk the final 10 miles to Filey in part because we have to collect the Teenager from her super-secret summer camp which is taking place in a super-secret location by 4pm. We could probably just about do this in time but it would make for a stressful day so instead we will probably mooch about the castle, check out of the B&B and possibly see if we can take in Castle Howard on the way to the secret location.

Scarborough North Bay which B. (who often came here as a child) informs me is the posh bit.
