It has, I think, such a sense of delight and fun about it as well as holding together pretty well at the plot level and having several clever ideas.

Gary Russell wrote an article in DWM years ago saying just that! But he thinks Pip and Jane Baker have an unparalleled grasp of the four part Doctor Who format...

Gary Russell is one of the great mysteries of Doctor Who - he's obviously very competent at what he does and yet he talks a lot of nonsense and some of his novels are really low quality.
