A good walking day. Mostly clear, but cool with only a few spots of rain. We walked the 12 miles from Milngavie (pronounced Mull-guy) to Drymen (pronounced Drimmen) in a little over 5 hours, which necessitated then spending an hour and a half in a pub waiting for the B&B to open. The walking was pretty gentle, on good paths, though the final section was along a road which was quite dull.

Wooden posts of different heights each, topped with a coloured ceramic rock.

We started with a woodland walk through a country park on the outskirts of Glasgow. These "Scholars Rocks" were by a local artist and appeared at several points and were inspired by the geology and industries of East Dumbartonshire.

This house is, apparently, The Shire. I was dubious about this.

We skirted the Campsie Fells.

In the middle of a stretch on an abandoned railway we came upon an old station, converted into a pub-come-petting zoo.
