Barbara in The Romans My knowledge of Roman sewing technology is minimal, but this feels more like a "vaguely Roman" look than something actually Roman. I believe Carry on Cleo was filming next door...




Rose in Fear Her I lke this outfit of Rose's - particularly the cute patch on the back of the jacket.

Zoe in The Krotons Another example of Zoe's futuristic look - because obviously in the future we all wear plastic!

Yeah, the dresses in The Romans were definitely not authentic in cut. Barbara looked very nice in her though. Still love Zoe's futuristic outfit more however.

It's weird, in a way, BBC historical costuming is usually pretty good - maybe once they decided it was a comedy they thought accuracy less important.

Can't go past that lovely yellow of Rose's, even though Zoe's is interesting, I don't find it eye-catching in the same way.

The yellow is lovely but maybe the whole isn't quite striking enough...

I think it is this outfit that Wendy Padbury said started disintegrating almost as soon as she put it on.

I can imagine the plastic would crack easily, but nothing a bit of sellotape couldn't fix;p

This being 1960s Doctor Who, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if by episode 4 the whole thing was held together by sellotape.

In one of the Eighth Doctor DWM strips, Eight's 1990s Earth companion Izzie is looking through the TARDIS wardrobe and thinks that costume of Zoe's is fetishwear.

The sparkly jumpsuit might be similarly interpreted... and, I suppose, much of what Leela wore.
