purplecat: The Tardis against a sunset (or possibly sunrise) (Doctor Who)

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Donna's outfit from The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky. A grey scoop necked top with a green velvet jacket over it. The top is longer than the jacket. Wide pale brown trousers with a faint check.

Donna in The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky I quite like this outfit, though I think the layering of the tops is unflattering. I'd have tucked that grey top in - but maybe that is a sign that I'm becoming reactionary and middle-aged.

Selection of images of Jo's outfit from Colony in Space. A purpled and brown striped jumper with a large belt with a massive triangular silver buckle. Black trousers tucked into knee-length boots.

Jo in Colony in Space Like many fans of my generation, I first encountered this story in book form as Doctor Who and The Doomsday Weapon complete with illustrations of Jo in this outfit. It was one of the first Doctor Who books I read and I'm very fond of it (indeed I think the book is generally held in high regard, even though the story itself isn't so much). The costume gets knock-on fondness points just because of this really.

Selection of images of Romana's outfit from The Leisure Hive. A blue sailor top with a red tie at the front. This is over a blue and white striped top and knee-length leggings. A straw had with a blue edging around the rim finishes the outfit. Red beach shoes.

Romana in The Leisure Hive This is another outfit that shows off Romana/Lalla Ward's sense of fun when it came to costuming.

Selection of images of Jo's outfit from Carnival of Monsters. A pale pink jumper over some striped shirt with a big collar. Over this is a blue jacket with wide lapels and pockets on the sleeves. Knee-length denim (I think) shorts turned up at the bottom and black high-heeled knee-length boots.

Jo in Carnival of Monsters This is a very 1970s outfit, but comparatively pedestrian compared to some of the stuff Jo wore.

Argh, this is too hard! I've gone for Jo's Colony in Space belt, although if I was commissioned to make an outfit for DW it would be like Romana's because I love nautical styling.

Fun as Jo's Space belt is the rest of that outfit is nothing special, so I voted for Romana's delightful beach outfit.

Donna’s layers look very ‘00s to me!

I voted for Romana’s outfit. Hard not to.
