Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.






Peri in Attack of the Cybermen Amazingly it occurred to the Cybermen that Peri's pink leotard and shorts were, perhaps, not optimal human clothing for the frozen tombs on Telos, so she got escorted off to change into something more suitable. They were not wrong, but it does seem like an odd thing for the Cybermen to worry about.




Mel in Paradise Towers Mel's devotion to coordinated outfits includes having a coordinated swimsuit to go with this trouser suit!




Romana in The Androids of Tara This is my favourite Doctor Who outfit ever - though I will admit to a slight doubt about the green coulottes. The hat though is amazing. You are, of course, free to disagree with me!




Clara in Mummy on the Orient Express Having said how much I like Romana's outfit, I think this one may give it a run for its money, just for the effect of all that gold beading.

Well I was going to vote for Mel. Until I scrolled down and saw *that* Romana outfit. I remember painting a copy of it when I was very young. It’s not my favourite Romana I story. But that outfit is just lovely. The hat especially.

I think it's also my favourite story - it's a season with a generally strong start but all the episodes have weaknesses, and I like the low stakes and swash and buckle of Tara.

I think Pirate Planet is probably my favourite of that year. But yes, there's a lot to like about Androids.

What a cruel set to bunch together! I was all set to vote for Mel's iconic polka dots, then I saw Romana's striking Tara outfit and knew it'd have to be that, and then you pulled out Clara's absolutely gorgeous Mummy on the Orient Express dress, and I had to go for that.

I know we get sets full of dullsville from Chibnall and then this lot!

Definitely a problem with random allocation to brackets that we have to choose between this set with three stunning outfits, (Peri's is unusual for her and companions, but hardly stunning).

I did consider seeding, but I wasn't at all sure that my ideas of "the best outfits" would remotely line up with everyone elses - and even though they mostly have, I've been surprised by the general love for, for instance, Mel's outfits. I'd have classed this one as a bit too silly to be a favourite but clearly lots of people love it and would have liked to see it against less stiff competition.

I can run it again in 10 years time and use the outputs from this attempt as seeds for the next one...

Is it just me, or does Romana have a slight Missy vibe in some of her pictures?

Her pose when showing distain certainly has a certain Missy vibe to it.

Very evil to put both Romana's fabulous purple outfit in the same poll as Mel's fun polka dots. In the end I had to vote for Romana because she has a matching hat!

I think this may have been the toughest set so far - and we've had sets with nothing particularly exciting in, which is a shame.

Despite the competition, I think Romana is going to win with ease.

There are some truly fabulous costumes in this one, but after some arguing with self, had to go with what I think of as Mel's most iconic / of its time outfit.

It's definitely one of her more memorable efforts!
