purplecat: The Tardis against a sunset (or possibly sunrise) (Doctor Who)

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Tegan's outfit from Power of the Doctor. A green/grey military-style jacket over a light blue shirt and jeans. White trainers.

Tegan in Power of the Doctor The jacket is, of course, awesome and I have sympathy with Janet Fielding's desire not to wear anything anywhere near as impractical and uncomfortable as her outfits in the 1980s but still, this doesn't really seems like Tegan's style.

Selection of images of Liz's outfit from The Silurians. A red mini-dress with a high loose neck and a gold chain=link beld. Knee high boots. A brown thigh-length coat in one shot.

Liz in The Silurians Liz isn't quite the last companion to make an appearance here, but she's the last one with more than one outfit in the set. Here she is rocking her fashionable early 1970s professorial look.

Selection of images of Jo's outfit from The Sea Devils. A white trouser suit with brown pockets and buttonss with a brown polo neck underneath.

Jo in The Sea Devils Keeping this clean must have been a nightmare but it's a really striking look.

Selection of images of Donna's outfit from Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead. Wide jeans over which is layered a brown linen tunic over a grey stretch top and a purple short sleeved cardigan. A long pendant necklace.

Donna in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead I've seen it argued that all Donna's outfits are hugely unflattering, but I think there is something about the way she dresses herself up in layers which are slightly fitted, but also slightly shapeless that speaks to the character and her insecurities. I like this outfit for all it is a very typical layer-upon-layer-almost-to-the-point-of-shapelessness Donna thing.

Jo is the clear winner for me here, even if it does bring back memories of Stuart Fell's impression of a woman climbing a ladder, oh dear.

There's something so painfully 2000s about Donna's outfit in that episode that I find somewhat endearing. But Tegan's jacket wins hands down, I want one. (I've only seen new Who and not even a lot of it so can't speak to it being her style or not.)

I love Liz's dress! It's both pretty and practical and looks very comfortable too.
