purplecat: The Tardis against a sunset (or possibly sunrise) (Doctor Who)

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Romana's first outfit from The Steones of Blood. Gold, high-heeled strappy sandals, pink trousers with a pink shirt loose over the top and belted at the waist. Hair up under a flat cap.

Romana in The Stones Blood This is the most disappointing of the first Romana's outfits. It's very nearly awesome with the high heels and the flat cap, but something about that shirt just loses it, in my opinion.

Selection of images of Turolough's outfit from Planet of Fire. A blue and white striped pullover shirt, with rolled up sleeves. Blue denim shorts - in one shot we can see his dark blue speedo underneath. Yellow and blue striped socks. Blue lace up shoes.

Turlough in Planet of Fire I confess this outfit doesn't do much for me, but I believe Turlough in shorts to have been a formative experience for a certain subset of fandom.

Selection of images of Sarah's outfit from Terror of the Zygons. Minty green culottes with a matching jacket belted at the waist. A white ribbed pullover. Brown leather boots. In one shot she is wearing the Doctor's hat.

Sarah in Terror of the Zygons I'd rate this practical but a bit dull. The best bit about it is when she pairs it with the Doctor's hat. That said, practical but a bit dull is an improvement on some of her later choices.

Selection of images of Amy's outfit from The Hungry Earth and Cold Blood. A brown leather jacket over a red jumper top with a lacey detail at the neckline. This is over some kind of grey T-shirt or undergarment. Very short black shorts. Sheer tights. Brown leather cowyboy boots.

Amy in The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood Karen Gillan has, I believe, unusually long legs and there was a phase when Amy was dressed to emphasise this. I think these are perhaps the teeniest tiniest of the shorts and mini-skirts she got to wear.

Turlough has great legs and should have worn shorts more often. Just as the Brig should have worn his kilt! If you'd asked me to chose between those two instead of Turlough and Sarah I wouldn't have know which one to chose.

contest for me today was between 'who wore the shorts better' and Turlough won by the smallest amount because something about those boots that Amy is wearing is Just Off.
