purplecat: The Tardis against a sunset (or possibly sunrise) (Doctor Who)

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Jo's outfit from Day of the Daleks. A denimon mini-dress with red buttons holding straps that go over her shoulders. Under this is a short puff-sleeved red and white checked blouse. She is wearing a long red scarf, tied like a tie. Knee-length white boots with red heels.

Jo in Day of the Daleks I'm a little suprised this is such an iconic look for Jo - or at least one I see cosplayed alot, and also the outfit she is wearing in the Doctor Who game I have on my phone that no one else seems to like. I wouldn't have said it was a particularly typical look for Jo who seemed to favour leather jackets or woolen mini-dresses more.

Selection of images of Barbara's outfit from Planet of Giants. A short-sleeved pale shirt that buttons up the front with a pocket on one breast. It is not tucked in. Tapered trousers in some darker material. Flat slip-on shoes.

Barbara in Planet of Giants Planet of Giants is notable for being one of the few stories where Barbara has to carry the stupid ball. While this outfit isn't bad, it is rather dull - one of the random selections. Planet of Giants was not Barbara's best story character or costume-wise.

Selection of images of Clara's outfit from Into the Dalek. A red blouse with pockets on both sides and a pattern of blue eyes. Dark blue tousers. Brown heeled boots. One shot shows her wearing a brown leather jacket and carrying a satchel.

Clara from Into the Dalek Another random choice. Is it just me or is that blouse a bit freaky? I can't ever imagine buying anything for everyday wear that had eyes all over it.

Selection of images of Amy's outfit from The Angels Take Manhattan. A brown parka coat voer a white baggy T-shirt with narrow horizontal blue stripes. Short-cut skinny jeans with turn ups. No Socks. Lace-up shoes. Reading glasses.

Amy from The Angels Take Manhattan It is difficult to figure out what age the production team meant Amy to be in The Angels Take Manhattan. The reading glasses would suggest late forties at the least but Karen Gillan really doesn't look that old. I wonder if the shapeless coat is supposed to somehow make her look older.

It’s got to be Clara. Freaky? Absolutely. But freaky in exactly the way Clara is.

In 'The Power of Three' (the episode before Manhattan) Amy says this:

AMY: We think it's been ten years. Not for you or Earth, but for us. Ten years older. Ten years of you, on and off.

She was 21 when she (finally) ran off with Eleven in The Eleventh Hour, so she would be around 31-32? Maybe her eyes were always a bit rubbish, who knows.

Very true. I've tried to do some maths, but I don't think I can work it out. :)
