Costume Bracket: Round 1, Post 14
Feb. 15th, 2024 06:58 pmFour more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Jo in Day of the Daleks I'm a little suprised this is such an iconic look for Jo - or at least one I see cosplayed alot, and also the outfit she is wearing in the Doctor Who game I have on my phone that no one else seems to like. I wouldn't have said it was a particularly typical look for Jo who seemed to favour leather jackets or woolen mini-dresses more.

Barbara in Planet of Giants Planet of Giants is notable for being one of the few stories where Barbara has to carry the stupid ball. While this outfit isn't bad, it is rather dull - one of the random selections. Planet of Giants was not Barbara's best story character or costume-wise.

Clara from Into the Dalek Another random choice. Is it just me or is that blouse a bit freaky? I can't ever imagine buying anything for everyday wear that had eyes all over it.

Amy from The Angels Take Manhattan It is difficult to figure out what age the production team meant Amy to be in The Angels Take Manhattan. The reading glasses would suggest late forties at the least but Karen Gillan really doesn't look that old. I wonder if the shapeless coat is supposed to somehow make her look older.
Vote for your favourite of these costumes. Use whatever criteria you please - most practical, most outrageously spacey, most of its decade!
Voting will remain open for at least a week, possibly longer!

Date: 2024-02-15 09:10 pm (UTC)In 'The Power of Three' (the episode before Manhattan) Amy says this:
AMY: We think it's been ten years. Not for you or Earth, but for us. Ten years older. Ten years of you, on and off.
She was 21 when she (finally) ran off with Eleven in The Eleventh Hour, so she would be around 31-32? Maybe her eyes were always a bit rubbish, who knows.
