purplecat: The Tardis against a sunset (or possibly sunrise) (Doctor Who)
[personal profile] purplecat
Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Graham's outfit from It Takes you Away. A brown leather jacket. Dark trousers. A white shirt with blue and brown checks.

Graham in It Takes you Away As usual, the distinctive feature of this outfit in contrast to all Graham's other outfits is the shirt. The random outfit selector strikes again.

Selection of images of Dodo's outfit from The Ark. A black and white page boy outfit. A white shirt with flouncy sleeves. An over tunic that is black on one side and white on the other with a sheild design in the opposite colours in the centre, with a low slung embroidered belt. Black tighits on the white side of the tunic and white tights on the black side.

Dodo in the Ark It boggles my mind a little that Dodo is the only companion in the history of the show to have gone straight to the wardrobe room and helped herself to random dress-up from history instead of wondering around the place in contemporary outfits or historically appropriate ones. This is I think, also the only time the show had a real elephant in the studio which just goes to show that sometimes tuppence can go a suprisingly long way.

Selection of images of Sarah's outfit from The Seeds of Doom. A pair of coulottes with a matching waistcoat like top in a material patterned with squares containing floral designs in red and green. The top is like a long waistcoat with a wide plain beige panel at the waist. This is over a pale short-sleeved blouse with a tie at the neck. She is wearing knee-length boots. In two shots she has a pinky-beige overcoat on.

Sarah in The Seeds of Doom. This is another cloth-kits affair which Elisabeth Sladen carries off suprisingly well given it's quite a strange outfit, all told.

Selection of images of Jo's outfit from The Daemons. A brown suede suit with flared trousers. The jacket is fitted at the waist and tied like a bodice. Underneath she has some kind of purple necktie. One shot is a famous black-and-white publicity still of her and John Levene as Benton in a `Bonnie and Clyde' pose. She is pointing a gun at Levene who is smoking a cigarette while they both lounge on the bonnet of a jeep.

Jo from The Daemons There is something very classicaly 1970s about this outfit. Not just the flares, but the colour and the detailing of the ties at the waist. I do wish I could have found a colour version of that publicity shot of Katy Manning and John Levene pretending to be gangsters.
