purplecat: The Tardis against a sunset (or possibly sunrise) (Doctor Who)

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Ian's outfit from The Daleks and Edge of Destruction. A white shirt and tie with suit trousers and a matching cardigan which from behind looks a bit like a suit jacket.

Ian in a Cardigan Ian actually wore a cardigan suprisingly infrequently given my corner of fandom has somehow accepted him as a man dressed in sensible cardies.

Selection of images of Jamie's outfit from late season 5 and early season 6. A kilt, with two pairs of socks and walking boots. A double-creasted shirt with what looks like a scout tie. A sleevless padded jacket over the top lined with furty or wool.

Jamie from Fury from the Deep through to the Krotons (give or take) While Jamie invariably wore a kilt, there were several variations to what he wore on his top half. This is one of the less 1960s variants.

Selection of images of Graham's outfit from The Battle of Ranskor av Kolos. Grey outdoor troubers, a red polo shirt. A bluey-grey zip up jacket with corderoy collar. A large bag is slung across his body. A small circular technological device is stuck beside his right eye. Sensible shoes.

Graham from the Battle of Ranskor av Kolos As noted already, Chibnall era companions have a distressing tendency to dress like real people with slight costume variants, rather than dramatic changes. The key thing to notice here is the red polo shirt...

Selection of images of Ace's outfit from Battlefield. Black leggings and a figuring hugging black top with a deep V-neck showing an acquamarine top underneath. Sensible black shoes. An acquamarine hair band tying back her hair. Sometimes the famous jacket with badges all over it. Long dangling earrings.

Ace from Battlefield. Ace, as a character, had a wider variety of costumes than I recalled before starting this, possibly because her look was so dominated by the jacket that it is easy to overlook other details. This is probably one of her more grown up looking affairs from her final season.

Ooh, this is tough because I don’t know that it’s my favorite look for any of these characters. I do like Ian’s cardigan, though, and I suppose it’s unfair to compare it mentally with his costumes in historicals.

Personally I prefer Ace’s skirts; I like how she’s equally violent in skirts. And her as-punk-as-the-BBC-allowed tights. Nothing against the Battlefield outfit but it’s not very memorable to me.

I’ve never understood Jamie’s vest thing. What’s going on with it? Is it fur inside?

I might have to go with Graham’s outfit; it’s reasonable for his character and looks good on location.

But then has Ian got a knitted tie? Hmm…

I would be surprised and disappointed if it wasn't low cut.
