Fossil of a small bipedal dinosaur with a Discovery Profile saying Name: Compsognathus longipes. Discovered: Near Kellheim, Bavaria, Germany be Dr. Oberndorfer c. 1961. Described: By Andreas Wagner, 1861. Importance: One of the first small dinosaurs to be discovered, and the first complete theropod. Classification: Saurischia, Theropoda, Coelurosauria, Compsognathidae.
Stolen from Darren Naish: Great Dinosaur Discoveries.

Compsognathus were one of the first dinosaurs B. modelled as a "pointysaurus". In that model they zipped ahead really fast. I think B. has revised his estimates since, though I'm not sure if he thinks they go faster or slower.
