Reading: Just finished Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe which was, well a lot bigger than I'd thought it would be being somewhat in the tradition of the Peter Haining books, or more accurately David Banks' Cyberman book. It didn't have quite Banks' ambition to make everything fit together but conversely did want to include all tie-in media. Its solution was to utilise Moffat's tendency to re-write the universe/history every so often and to lean into the concept of a historian trying to piece together evidence. However, it didn't quite sound authentic as a historian.

I don't know. It is a pretty book but not quite successful.

Listening: Listened to Throughline on Typhoid Mary who, I had not realised, remained infectious (and therefore in quarantine) her whole life. An interesting reflection though on how and why people may not act in ways perceived rational by Doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Watching: Dark Season 3 has dropped. It was already hard enough to keep track of who was related to who, but now they've added an alternative universe into the mix. Also, I do feel this is a show in which a lot of events would not have happened if everyone sat down and compared notes in a spirit of genuine inquiry (as opposed to taking it upon yourself to turn up like a portentous oracle to dispense bogus wisdom to your/your lover's/your parent's/whoever's younger self).
