Staithes
15 miles/24.65km
So today we walked from Guisborough to Staithes and rather surprisingly didn't get wet.

Our walk started at the Northern Edge of the Yorkshire Moors, though we didn't stay there for long, striking North a bit as we headed for the coast.

This is Skelton Viaduct, over which trains still run.

As we climbed up out of the valley where the viaduct was, we encountered what the guidebook described as a welcome and decorative bench. We think it probably wasn't meant to be quite so wonky.

We met the cliffs at Saltburn-by-sea.

Beyond Saltburn we were told to look out for three sculptures celebrating the region's history of ironstone mining. This was the first we found, though we missed one.

This one is called the charm bracelet.

We came down to sea level again at Skinningrove...

... where we saw this sculpture of a fisherman.

We are staying the night in Staithes which is, frankly, ridiculously pretty though I haven't quite managed to capture it in these photos.
