Whatever it is astronomers do to images they get off telescopes nearly always seem to look pretty....

Ooh, very nice. Also, I might need to check out that website. Astronomy is about third on my list of interests, only slightly behind archaeology and palaeontology.

It's a nice little website and is also syndicated via NASA in some way, though I don't think its actually run by NASA. I use an automated script (via IFTTT) to get the daily picture emailed to me, but you could just subscribe to the RSS feed.
