My main reaction was, "You don't sound like I expected you to sound!" but I'm not entirely sure how I expected you to sound. You actually sound like my therapist, make of that what you will.

I think I sound a lot posher, in a North Oxford kind of a way, than most people expect. I think most people assume a kind of 1970s BBC default middle-class accent...

At school I was bullied for supposedly having a posh accent. I think most (although not all) of the students at the school were middle class in origin, but many of them assumed an Estuary English/Mockney accent to sound 'street'.
