B. and I were witness to an interesting optical effect when driving the other day. It was tipping down with rain and there was a rainbow up above us. The spray being thrown up by the traffic caused the rainbow effect to continue down onto the road towards us, in fact pretty much towards the bonnet of the car and our front windscreen.

We were at the end of the rainbow!

There was no crock of gold.

still, you had a better end-of-rainbow experience than I did. it struck the middle of the 1.5-lane highway outside Gordion.

Actually, now I think about it, that happened to us once, years ago, on some family car journey. Quite a weird effect, isn't it?

We debated this, although digging on the M62 is not without its logistical problems, but concluded that it is Leprechaun's gold you dig for. The rainbow gold is just there...
