Resolutions Post
Jan. 27th, 2008 03:19 pm1. Do more exercise
Exercise book still lost. In fact exercise is proving to be a bit of a disaster since I've not been cycling either. This is because the weather is generally so awful at the moment, and I'm vaguely suffering from a cough and a sore throat. Mostly I'm fine except first thing in the morning (dealt with by coffee) and last thing at night (dealt with by Lemsip) but I have a disturbing habit of falling asleep if I stop work in the middle of the day.
2. Drink/buy less alcohol.
Alcohol bought: 1 bottle of white.
Bottles of wine opened: 3? we had a Burns night celebration so though no bottles were opened our whisky supply is somewhat diminished as well.
3. Do list of "before bed" actions pinned to fridge.
Done: every night bar one except I've been skipping the "tidy living room floor" bit.
4. Write a grant.
No progress.
5. Write papers for ProMAS, ASE and TPHOLs.
The ProMAS paper is now in a presentable (though not good) draft form. It's 7 pages too long though, which is exciting and we have an extension until next week. At some point on Thursday it seemed like a good idea to write two other papers this week. One, a two page demonstration paper, is submitted, the other doesn't even exist as a draft yet.
6. Write more fanfiction.
No progress.
7. Try a new recipe each week.
This week's recipe was Kerala style 'bhuna' beef, lamb or veal. We went for the beef version and it'll be going in the book because it was nice and easy. It's from Madhur Jaffrey's Ultimate Curry Bible which we were given as a Christmas present at the height of our curry making enthusiasm but has never been used much since we already, by that stage, had something of a glut of curry recipes. These have now been weeded out somewhat so it seemed time to investigate some new ones.
