She's always been one of my favourites as well. I get the criticism that she gets left in the Tardis without much to do an awful lot, but as a quiet-ish sciencey teenager, I identified with her a lot more than Tegan.
I'm not much of an audio drama fan, but if you like them then I believe Big Finish has worked extensively in the "Nyssa travelling solo with the Doctor" space.
Oooh, I'll have to have a look for those. I've picked up most of the tie-in novelisations which have her in them, but hadn't thought of looking for audio ones. It's not the first medium I tend to think of when looking for stuff, but I've enjoyed some of the Blake's 7 ones, so I suspect I'd enjoy these.
I don't recall much about this novelisation, given the author, I imagine it is competent but not particuarly special. Not to knock Terrance Dicks, but we all know a lot of these novelisations were produced at speed without a lot of time (or indeed page count) for flourishes.
