purplecat: The Sixth Doctor (Who:Six)

Book cover for Doctor Who The Shadow in the Glass by Justing Richards and Stephen Cole. A blue cover with the faces of the sixth Doctor and Hitler behind a transparent globe. Blue streaks emanate out from the globe.

I've no memory of reading this at all. The back makes it sound both interesting and memorable - a retired brigadier stumbling upon shenanigans from WW2 recruiting the sixth Doctor for help. Richards and Cole are both solid Doctor Who authors who I rate but none of it stirs a memory.

I read this one in.. 2015? 2016? I can’t remember. It was when the BBC Books did a handful of rereleases. I remember enjoying it a lot then.

( Kinda wish that was still a thing since unless you know how to scour the web, some of these older ones aren’t cheap!)

I’ve read a bunch of the new series ones- there’s some good ones there. It’s early or I’d list some specific examples of ones I’ve enjoyed. 😊

Oh I really like the novelizations! I got the one for “ Space Babies” not long ago .

I apparently read it it in 2018, and rated it 3/5 on Goodreads. I can remember a little of it, but I'd forgotten even that it had the Sixth Doctor in it! I have vague memories of some intriguing elements, but found it pretty workmanlike. And clearly not hugely memorable!

Oh, I just barely remember reading this one! (And it wasn't all that long ago that I read it...) I remember being excited for it because Sixth Doctor PDAs are not so frequent, but as I recall it was a reasonably solid plot but didn't do anything very exciting with the characters. I'd probably have enjoyed it more if I were a more plot-driven person. :-P
