I shared the video earlier, but did not otherwise express my admiration for this project. I will do so now. I hope the Lego Rover can have hundreds of thousands of offspring.

I understood what you were doing regarding DW and LJ; if you don't mind refriending me on LJ I'd be glad to be back there if only to participate in other discussions, but not if it is a real inconvenience to you.

As I recall, when we* won the SIAS prize for our paper on Managing Closed Funds, we won a case of wine. But I'm not going to tell you where we got media coverage, because it's too embarrassing.

Small or large scale, it's all nice.
I got interviewed for a piece in the Nikkei Computer magazine about a year ago. Although it's the same company $WIFE works for, it's a completely different area/publication and she had nothing to do with it, honest. I still have no idea whether this is actually much of a big deal for Japanese academia or not.
One of my academic friends and colleagues in the US was recently featured in the Sunday NY Times. Now that was serious exposure. Same guy was interviewed by NHK a while back - I got a surprise when queueing up a video for $DAUGHTER and had NHK on while waiting for the machine to boot up, only to see him on their current affairs program.
What level of stardom does your family usually get? I must admit to not knowing about your famous relatives.
