purplecat: The Tardis against a sunset (or possibly sunrise) (Doctor Who)

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Yaz's outfit from Early in the Flux. A black leather biking jacket. Black jeans with silver buttons. Brown leather belt. Sensible boots. A bright red shirt with a floral pattern, suggestive of chinese fabrics.

Yaz in the early Flux stories. As noted, Chibnall's characters have a distressing tendency to dress like real people. In Yaz's case this means that her shirt is often the most interesting part of her outfit (unless she is playing historical dress up). This is a nice shirt, though not, I would say, particularly typical of her choices.

Selection of images of Ben's outfit from The Tenth Planet and Power of the Daleks. A dark polo neck underneath a pale V-necked jumper. Dark trousers.

Ben in the Tenth Planet I think a lot of people recall this outfit of Ben's. The pale V-neck over the dark polo neck is quite striking.

Selection of images of Donna's outfit from The Stolen Earth and Journey's End. A grey woollen tunic/dress with a wide brown leader belt. It is over something purple the line of which can just be seen above the scooped neck. She is wearking a brown leader coat that comes down to her thighs below the tunic/dress. Dark blue trousers and sensible shoes. The dress has long sleeves gathered at the cuffs.

Donna in The Stolen Earth and Journey's End Donna tended to opt for things layered over things as in this case where we have that grey tunic over some kind of top and trousers and then the coat. I don't think it's my favourite of her outfits but it is very her.

Selection of images of Zoe's outfit from The Wheel in Space. A stretchy, short-sleeved all-in-one jumpsuit with white boots. It has a high neck and a white front panel that forms a semi-circle at the neckline at the back.

Zoe from the Wheel in Space The most striking thing about this is that someone thought a good set of publicity shots for a new companion would involve her running gaily past a burning building. Putting that aside, this is really a pure 1960s imagined-future outfit which is striking in its own right, even when competing with a burning building.

It’s got to be Zoe for me! It looks like children’s pajamas; it’s SO odd. Very retro-future, as you say, and I love that.

I voted for Yaz, does this mean I win her shirt?
