TBH, I was expecting to enjoy it more since I like gothic Tom Baker and, of course, although I was oddly disappointed on this viewing that doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy a lot if viewed again.
Horror and children is a funny thing, its very hard to predict (at least I found) what they will find distressing and/or uncomfortable and what will either completely pass them by or not bother them at all. G., for instance, was far more distressed by the deaths of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru in Star Wars than we had expected, to the extent that we had to stop watching.
