Jodie Whittaker standing in a grassy field wearing a voluminous multicoloured shiny... cloak/dress/thing. In white letters the headline is the Woman who Fell to Earth. Additional lettering is an introduction to the article and credits. The thing is apparently a dress by Richard Quinn. The earrings (which I hadn't noticed until I read the credit are by Alexandre Jefford. The photograph by Simon Emmett and she was styled by Jayne Pickering.

I had never before purchased a copy of Marie Claire until they did a Jodie Whittaker photo shoot, though no doubt I will do so again if they do another. That said, this outfit convinces me that I will never understand fashion.

I'm not sure it is 'fashion' as such. Although Jodie's taste in clothes most certainly proves her Doctor-y credentials.

It's obviously camouflage. Maybe it confuses Dalek cameras or something...

Well, I'm fairly sure Marie Claire is a fashion magazine and in the top right of the photo you have the dress designer and the article consists of photos of her in a number of different frocks so I'm assuming that it does fall under some definition of fashion...

It's certainly a very odd thing. Several people have compared it to a tent.

Normally I do not have a question for actors at cons. However, should I ever be at a Q&A where Jodie Whittaker turns up I do now have a question.

I mean, its obviously the kind of thing one wears for effect on red carpets for premieres and that kind of thing, but even so one can't help feeling one would spend most of one's time tripping over it.

I hadn't thought of the tent comparison but yes, it does look rather like a tent.
