This was our first bit of wall, though we couldn't quite decide whether to count it. It was a bit of "spur" wall at Segdunum that had once lead down to the Tyne. It had apparently been removed at some point, and then put back.

I thought we'd been pretty good at not standing on the wall, but I seem to have documented quite a lot ignoring this instruction. Here B. demonstrates how to fend off picts.

In our defence we thought this was the bit of wall you were allowed to stand on since we knew it was near Housesteads and that's Housesteads in the background. Actually the relevant bit of wall is in that clump of trees to the right of the picture.
