I think it is entirely the wrong, lazy, kind of maths teacher who cannot cope with a pupil asking about infinity. My mother would have made a valid attempt to introduce a concept of infinity to her class, but then she was of the old school more concerned with educating pupils than ticking boxes. I still remember meeting "e^i.pi = -1" for the first time, and thinking how beautiful it was. My mother always wanted me to do maths at university. I have never heard of omega. What about aleph-1?
