The A/C thing would be better if there was any sort of on-screen reason for it, expressed by the characters themselves (yes, Connor didn't do as much as he could to back Abby up over the creatures, and yes, he's doing stuff for Philip, who Abby neither trusts nor likes, but that doesn't seem to be enough to cause the kind of rift we appear to be seeing).
