International Space Station in 3D VR

We took various worthies from the FAIR-Space project to the Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC) last week. The VEC is a technology transfer company associated with the University of Liverpool and they specialise in high fidelity simulations of various kinds. They had put up a 3D model of the International Space Station which they had downloaded from somewhere to illustrate how you could use 3D and VR to get a sense of how cramped a space you were dealing with.
The reception was mixed. Some of the people obviously thought they could make use of the facilities, others were more "let's leave it to the follow on project"*
*which seems an optimistic aspiration, but stranger things have happened, I suppose.
