I'm not sure it felt that much like traditional Who to me. The grounding in every day life was very modern Who. But you are right that the Doctor and Rose treat Trish much better than the Connolleys - which of course highlights, in a way, the Doctor's increasing tendency to act like judge and jury on people's character.
