When I came across the Fanlore article on penguins Frobisher was the
first
second thing I added - I think the penguin in Wallace and Gromit was first.

I also like the aesthetic in lots of of these stories: instead of trying to produce something like the show they make the most of a drawn medium and just have a universe full of crazy and colourful aliens.

Yes, and Frobisher's time on the comic coincided with John Ridgeway's time as illustrator, with his distinctive and meticulous style.
