Random Doctor Who Picture: Tides of Time Issue 1

My second venture into the fanzine world was The Tides of Time. I can't find my copy of issue 1, fortunately [personal profile] sir_guinglain has has archived them all. It surprises me that of all the fanzines that have come, and mostly gone, since the 1980s The Tides of Time is one of the few that still produces issues, albeit on an irregular basis.

I've not been involved with it since issue 7, but [personal profile] sir_guinglain is the currently editor and, I believe, possibly looking for contributions...

He is indeed. I took over because I didn't want Tides to fade away, and because I liked the idea of being an unofficial tutor in fanzine practice to the younger generation... but particularly because I love the fanzine form and I wanted to play around with text and graphics in a way I've never managed to learn to do on the web. The deadline for contributions was today, but as I have a review to finish before 7.20pm tonight and then a presentation to write for a job interview on Wednesday, there are in practice another few weeks to go.

Hooray for Tides! The start of my writing career! It was made SFX magazine's Fanzine of the Month in 2005, edited by parrot_knight/sir_guinglain (with a hefty chunk written by yours truly, he said modestly).
