Wow, I learned from this that Troughton starred as the first television Robin Hood, though very little of it survives. I assume this is some sort of publicity shot?

I'm guessing so - unless that Robin Hood show was doing time travel (which seems unlikely)

He was - a very well-turned ankle! I'd say it makes sense of his complex love life - except that plenty of perfectly ordinary looking people manage to have complex love lives!
