I had to double check which story that was from! There are a few Sixth Doctor TV stories that I really disliked a lot back then, and have essentially blanked memories on. And this was one! Though I should give it a fresh go. I love the Sixth Doctor's audio adventures. But I think a lot of dubious choices were made re his TV characterisation early on (not Colin Baker's fault).
It's a hard one to like. It's possible there are the bones of an interesting story in there around the responsibilities of rulers and subjects and there are some good actors - but it looks like the budget and filming/editing time ran out; the performances of the two twins are ... not great; and the Sixth Doctor is arguably at his most unpleasant (I think Mindwarp gives it a run for its money there - but in Mindwarp we're supposed to think some of what we see if faked so you can always hand wave the nastier Doctor bits away as unreliable narrator). Interesting now for the appearance of Kevin McNally (Professor Jericho in flux) but you need to be prepared to watch a scene where the Doctor tries to strangle Peri, so, you know.
