Ridgeway Day 2

15.5 miles today - most through yet more rolling chalky farmland.

Chalk Track. Blue Sky. Harvested Farmland. A few trees on the right.

Three race horses being ridden behind a chalky bank
It turned out our B&B last night trained racehorses.

Chalky grassland. White shapes are cut into it. There is a hint of an eye and some legs/
My best attempt at a shot of the White Horse. White Horse Hill really isn't the place to photograph it though.

Panoramic shot of earthworks
Uffington Castle Hill Fort

Standing stone either side of a stone entrance
This is my best attempt at Wayland Smithy. There were quite a lot of people there so it was difficult to get shots that weren't full of children and bicycles.

View over arable farmland from the shade of trees.
We are actually off the Ridgeway proper at this point - it being used for a busy road - and were taking a detour to Ogbourne St. George from where I am writing this from a B&B attached to a pub.
