Nigel Robinson, I have learned since joining LJ, got his start in publishing with a Tolkien Quiz Book in which enterprise he was aided and abetted by fredbassett. He went on to edit the Doctor Who book range. His wikipedia page peters out in the late 1990s though I believe Fred has managed to track him down since.

It's quite list like - not much real variety in the quizzes

I expect you can track him down on FB fairly easily (if he is still there - if he and I have friends in common, I expect you will).

I'm pretty sure I've seen him reply to some of Fred's posts on Facebook so I'm pretty sure he's there. But he doesn't seem much engaged with the various corners of book fandom I still keep up with.

Hee! My copy is well-thumbed though I seem to have grown out of Doctor Who trivia somewhat. I was given a much heftier and more recent Doctor Who quiz book for Christmas which I have barely opened.

The novelty for me, as a child, was having a DW book regardless of content! I suspect I wouldn't be able to get as many answers right though, but I have a new weird not quite six degrees of separation.

I think I may have borrowed a copy of this from a friend. I'm fairly sure I had the Doctor Who Crossword Book by the same author, but that went missing at some point, which is very unlike me.

I suspect there is something about puzzle books that makes them feel even more ephemeral - particularly one like a crossword book where you need to fill in the answers.
