I love the Target covers. :D I own a handful of these (both classic and New) , and sometimes that covers are cool.

Some of the covers are excellent! I'm not sure about this one though, the shape of the Doctor's face doesn't seem quite right.

In the UK, I think a lot of kids had one or two if they were remotely interested in SF, they were quite widely available. I ended up collecting them all, but then I was a fan and have a collecting impulse.

I had a much larger collection of them when I was a kid. I always looked for them in the used bookstores. Now, I think I have maybe 5.

Have you seen the one for "The Visitation?" The novelization is pretty good (I had a physical copy, though I've since read and donated it).

The cover is... interesting. :)
