Costume Bracket: Round 1, Post 39

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Jamie's outfit from The Two Doctors. Traditional Highland dress consisting of a kilt and full plaid in a red and black tartan. A white floppy shirt and a black leather belt from shoulder to hip with silver ornaments.

Jamie in The Two Doctors While I appreciate the opportunity to see Jamie in full Highland regalia it would also have been fun to see a 1980s take on his mixture of kilt with modern top that we saw in the 1960s.

Selection of images of Ryan's outfit from The Haunting of Villa Diodati. A regency outfit with a blue tail coat, blue waitcoat and blue cravat. Pale trousers and a white starched shirt.

Ryan in The Haunting of Villa Diodati This was by far and away the most interesting thing Ryan got to wear. It's just a shame that the whole episodee was filmed by candlelight making it tricky to get good detailed shots of the cosutume.

Selection of images of Donna's outfit from Planet of the Odod. A blue short sleeveless dress over blue trousers. Mostly with a blue furry coat with a hood over the top.

Donna in Planet of the Ood The basic costume under this is business as usual for Donna - however the coat is lovely - particularly the way the hood works with her hair.

Selection of images of Donna's outfit from Partners in Crime. A brown pinstipe suit over a tight red top with a scoop neck.

Donna in Partners in Crime I think this is a great look for Donna. Not quite her usual style since she's undercover but it still displays her preference for wide-legged trousers and layering of tops.

Is it just my system or was there a weird thing when you wrote the description for Jamie's entry here? I'm seeing, or rather not seeing, many of the "h"s in the sentencesm so "that" is rendered as "t at". The rest are fine, just the Jamie one. Are you deriving these from a source file somehow that messed up the transfer of the text correctly?

OK, it was just my system. I now see the h's for Jamie's entry. Firefox for some reason refused to render the h's the first time around but when I scrolled back up after writing the reply, it rendered them.
Ah, good reliable technology...

This just went through the office yesterday, after someone owned up to using vim in Rust development - everyone else uses VS Code or similar. https://xkcd.com/378/

Much as I love Jamie I'm really not keen on that outfit. I much preferred him in kilt and a modern top. Ryan's outfit on the other hand is fabulous and he looks so smart in it!
lurking_latinist: Romana in her Shada dress, looking awed, against a background of space and stars. (Default)

I do like Donna’s coat but, yeah, nothing’s beating Ryan’s Regency look.
