Reading, Listening, Watching

Reading: The second of The Old Guard graphic novels, because I liked the Netflix movie. Grahpic novels aren't really my thing, and this one requires more concentration than many, since there is a lot happening in the images.

Listening: The usual mixture of Doctor Who podcasts and random other stuff. The Economist have started charging for their Money Talks podcast. I have somewhat reluctantly paid for it, but I'm exploring other options for podcasts that will give me the illusion I actually understand something about economics.

Watching: Miscellaneous crime shows from the early 2000s and 2010s (Bones, Castle, NCIS) as well as The Clone Wars. Our viewing of new material is restricted to Bake Off. But I anticipate this all changing shortly - indeed I'm contemplating suggesting we watch our way through Tales of Tardis - which, if I understand correctly, consist of newly filmed framing stories around classic serials. Mind you, we watched The Time Meddlar recently and I understand that first of the tales involves this so I may need to do some convincing.

If it helps, the order they're supposed to be watched in is apparently Earthshock, The Mind Robber, Vengeance on Varos, The Time Meddler & Curse of Fenric.

Sadly we'd watched Earthshock even more recently than The Time Meddlar. However we started out to watch the first episode - however these things are edited together into omnibus's so we ended up stopping when we'd realised we'd move past the episode 1 cliffhanger. Then the next night we just skipped to the end and watched the closing tag scene.


Fortunately we haven't watched The Mind Robber recently so we're watching that and playing guess the cliffhanger. It's odd though, that in the past year we've watched most of these - only The Mind Robber and The Curse of Fenric haven't been watched since the great randomiser trip through everything.

I only realised after I'd posted this that the new bits were only at the beginning and the end and, having watched all of those quite a bit, really, I just skimmed to the end and watched them that way. (I had, for reasons, already watched Varos twice within a year, so I felt a third time in only just over a year was probably going a bit far, lol.)
