Could there be a Lady Doctor?


DWM article with the headline Could there be a Lady Doctor? Illustrated with a picture of Joanna Lumley looking unimpressed as Sapphire. It announces itself as a Forum article which it describes as In the first of an occasional series of readers' contributions, Althea Fleming argues.... Headlines include GENETIC CODE, EVOLUTION? and GENDER CHANGE. I'm not going to transcribe it all unless someone really wants it, but it does make it clear that its not looking at the question from what we would now call a Doyleist perspective - in fact it explicitly says: it's a shame to put unnecessary limitations upon a format that otherwise has almost limitless potential in stories and characters - but instead it wants to talk theoretical biology
