Costume Bracket: Round 3, Post 9

Two Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Difficult one this: Two very different outfits neither of which, arguably, is top league.

Selection of images of Leela's outfit from The Talons of Weng Chiang. A victorian urchin outfit consisting of a brown leg-of-mutton sleeved jackete and breeches with red detailing. A white shirt with a loose red tie and a beret set and an angle.

Selection of images of Martha's outfit from The Lazarus Experiment. A sleeveless knee-length wine red evening dress in a chiffony material that is gathered at the waist. High-heeled black shoes.

Leela's reads as scruffy, and as such doesn't work for me. Martha's is understated, but elegant, and as such quite an interesting option for a companion. Also, it feels 'of its time' n a way that I think will be more obvious as time goes on.

I did not read 'urchin' from that costume at all! So, I guess it failed on the part of 'convincing' as well for me.
