Costume Bracket: Round 1, Post 57

Four more Doctor Who companion outfits for your delectation and delight! Outfits selected by a mixture of ones I, personally, like; lists on the internet; and a certain random element.

Selection of images of Ian's outfit from The Keys of Marinus. A dark blue jacket with chinese characters down the front and an elaborate circular design on the back and around the hips. A light blue high necked-shirt underneath. All belted at the wait. Dark modern trousers.

Ian in Marco Polo and The Keys of Marinus Most of the extant photos we have of Ian from Marco Polo show him only in the light blue undershirt of this outfit, while the top appears throughout The Keys of Marinus. An early example of continuity between stories.

Selection of images of Jack's outfit from Boom Town. A tight blue T-Shirt, pale chinos, a brown puffy jacket. Blue scarf.

Jack in Boom Town Jack briefly had this paler coloured, upright hair look in Boom Town before reverting to dark colours and sweeping great coats.

Selection of images of Leela's outfit from Horror of Fang Rock. A grey high-necked jumper, belted at the wait. Black leggings and heeled boots.

Leela in Horror of Fang Rock Having started the story in period costume, Leela seizes an early opportunity to change into something more practical (though I wonder about those heels). I think this is the only time she isn't in either leather skins or a long dress and it suits her!

Selection of images of Clara's outfit from Robot of Sherwood. A long, bright red dress in a medieval style with oversleeves that hang down and undersleeves in a material with a floral pattern. She has a tassled rope belt and lacing up the front. In her hair is a sliver circlet with a semi-circular metal shap in the middle of her forehead.

Clara in Robot of Sherwood I mostly really like this outfit, but that thing on her head really worries me. I assume the bit in the middle is glued into place, but that doesn't seem very period and I wonder what Robin Hood and his men thought was going on with it.
