TBH, I thought all the first three episodes were middling in story terms - though there were several production and acting highs that probably push at least the Devil's Chord and this one into the top half of Doctor Who episodes - I mean, obviously, its difficult to compare something made on sixpence in 1963 with something made with Disney money in 2022 (or whenever they filmed this) but if we're in the business of comparing incomparable then I think these probably fare better than some of the more also-ran episodes of the classic series.
