I'm almost tempted to write it even though angst isn't really my thing (I tend to end up irritated at the characters not getting their act together) but the Becker Mac combination is just crying out for it. They were lovers, but then the time line changed, and Becker remembers (*hand wave, hand wave*) but Mac doesn't and Becker has to nobly step aside so that Mac can go off into the sunset holding hands with Evan and/or Tobie.
