I noticed, when I looked at the review I posted on first watching, that I'd picked up on that then though it didn't strike me on this watch. But yes, the women are driven by illogic and emotion and their actions are shown to lead to failure, although this may arise from Chibnall channelling the anti-militarism of 70s Who while at the same time indulging in what I suspect will be seen as a modern trope of Surprise! Surprise! making the soldier into a woman!
