Look! I wrote something this year. Albeit a Secret Santa only started at the last minute and for which I had to beg fredbassett for the very latest possible posting date. She kindly obliged.

Summary:

Stephen and Ryan find themselves trapped in Anglo-Saxon England. Naturally they continue to hunt dinosaurs while becoming embroiled in local family politics.

I'd love to say my New Year Resolution will be to restart writing fanfic, but I can already see what the pressures are likely to be next year, and I think I will go for a more modest "improve work-life balance" the metric for which will be something like "progress a hobby project at least once a week" and maybe "post to DreamWidth at least once a week". More than that seems ambitious.

Hope it makes sense when you do get to it - I have to admit its not written with those unfamiliar with the show in mind, or even unfamiliar with the fandom since it's written as if it makes obvious sense for Stephen and Ryan to be a couple and that is entirely in the mind of one segment of the fandom.

I read fic for a lot of fandoms I know nothing about, and as a general rule, if it is well written, it doesn't matter to me that I understand the subtleties. And unless your fiction authorial voice is markedly different from your blogging authorial voice, I have reasonable expectations of it holding together without the fannish underpinnings.
