The Teenager Has a Web Comic

Over the summer the Teenager, who I perhaps should start calling Marmalade Sparrow, since that is her chosen web handle, put a huge amount of time and effort into drawing a comic. My understanding is that she has ideas for an ongoing story but this initial set of pages represents a prologue. I think its pretty amazing, but even allowing for bias, it represents a huge amount of work. I'm not sure I would have dumped it as two sets of 11 pages on Tumblr but then what do I know about Tumblr?

I am always impressed by webcomic artists in general, because my artistic skills are more like stick-figure level, but I am definitely intrigued by this prologue! The animated pages are particularly unsettling.

(11-page sets are probably not the greatest idea though because when you go over the number of images allowed for an image post, the stuff embedded in the 'caption' portion is hard to read)

I was surprised by the animated stuff since I don't think of comics being dynamic, but of course it makes sense given the medium. I'll mention about the captions. Personally, I'd have released it one page a day with a post for each page, but that may be a liverjounally way of thinking.

When you say you don't draw, maybe you'd be that good if you did ;)

Well, Marmalade Sparrow has put a lot of time (and Youtube videos) into teaching herself to draw - possibly if I'd invested as much effort I would be good too, who knows?

Ah. Yes. Very true! And having tried a bit of Bob Ross and created what can be called acceptable oil paintings, a lot can be achieved through hard work!
